Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 points in an Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci at age six. She would later become the Romanian gymnastics coach. Comaneci participated for the first time at the national junior championships. She finished 13th. The following year she was crowned champion. In 1972, at an event for communist-controlled countries' juniors before the Olympics, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974, she became the junior champion in all aspects. In 1975, she won 4 gold and 1 silver medal in her debut senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. In 1976, she became the first female athlete in the world to utilize a reversed double salto for a dismount off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens, she began performing in traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, at Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career as an entertainer when she was a teenager. The path she took to success began by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling spectacle of entertainment. These shows were ice skating events which included stage performances.
