Katherine Heigl shares her experiences as a child within a "white bubble" has impacted the way that she raised her multiracial family. In an interview with the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy", actress revealed her looks didn't bother her, however, after having a conversation with her adoptive sister in South Korea about how society had treated them, she was aware of the stark differences their lives were. Meg was asked whether her treatment was different while they were together with their parents and then in the case of going out on their own. Meg responded "Oh sure! Every times!" Heigl spoke to Parents about when she realized her ignorance. The actress said that she was angry but felt she needed use that anger to aid her adopted daughters. Heigl shares a son of 4 years with Josh Kelley, her husband for 13 years. In 2009, the couple adopted Nancy Leigh (12), one of their daughters of South Korea, and Adalaide (8 the black child) in 2012.
